Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Georgetown University. He accepted an appointment as a New York City Teaching Fellow, teaching high school English in Brooklyn, NY, and received his Master of Science in Education from Lehman College. Michael then received his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams School of Law. After graduation, he accepted a commission as an officer in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps, where he served as a federal prosecutor and appellate defense counsel. Notably, he deployed to an undisclosed location in southeast Asia and received his Masters of Military Operational Art and Science, Joint Warfare Concentration, from the Air Command and Staff College. Michael then received his Master of Laws in Government Procurement and Environmental Law from The George Washington University School of Law. Michael then worked as a trial attorney for Department of Justice in the Environment and Natural Resources Division – Environmental Defense Section (ENRD-EDS). Michael is now a federal trial judge in the United States Air Force for District 1, sitting in Hampton, VA.
